HUMAN SECURITY ACT  |  PNP supports declaration of NPAs as Terrorist

CAMP RAFAEL CRAME, Quezon City (DWDD) – The Philippine National Police (PNP) fully supports the decision of President Rodrigo Duterte to declare the New People’s Army (NPA) as terrrorist.

According to PNP spokesperson C Supt Dionardo Carlos, with such declaration, it would be easier for law enforcers to arrest suspected members of the bandit group.

C Supt Carlos explained that the decision to declare the NPAs as terrorist would have an implication in the enforcement of the law where the Human Security Act would be applicable to the communist terrorist group if they will be committing or has committed any acts of terrorism.

The PNP also supports the president’s decision to cease all talks with the CPP-NPA-NDF since they will be declared as terrorist.

Carlos added that the president is just consistent with the government’s stand against negotiating with terrorist.

President Duterte was forced to cease all forms of talks with the CPP-NDF-NPA since the communist group has not stopped and even intensified their terror acts and atrocities, targeting not just government security forces and installations but even private groups and individuals. AES
