DEVELOPMENT | Projects to Commence in Pagasa Island

Pagasa IslandCAMP GEN EMILIO AGUINALDO, Quezon City (DWDD) – The Armed Forces of the Philippines have started sending personnel to Pagasa who will undertake the building and improving of infrastructure and facilities on the island.

According to AFP Western Command (WESCOM) Commander, Lt. Gen. Raul del Rosario, they have sent the first batch of workers who will construct and improve facilities on the island.

Aside from the personnel, they have also sent supplies like cement, plywood, and other construction equipment and materials.

Del Rosario added that they have not set any date on when the actual construction will start or when will the whole process of transporting workers, materials and equipment

Defense Secretary Delfin Lorenzana earlier stated that the development projects to be implemented in the Kalayaan Island Group would include lengthening of the existing runway, construction of an ice plant, a communication tower, the improvement of the coastal areas and many more. AES / MCAG
