The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) is still validating the report on the plan of Abu Sayyaf Group leader Radulan Sahiron to surrender to authorities.
According to AFP Public Affairs Office Chief Marine Col. Edgard Arevalo, Sahiron’s plan to surrender serves as an encouragement to other ASG members.
Arevalo said that this is a manifestation of Sahiron’s enlightenment and he doesn’t need to hide from the law.
The AFP welcomes the plan of Sahiron. If Sahiron surrenders, it shows the effectiveness of the Army’s combat operations against the group, Arevalo added.
