COMMUNITY ASSISTANCE  |  Farmers Association gets aid from 71st IB

MAWAB, Compostela Valley Province (DWDD) – The Army’s 71st Infantry “Kaibigan” Battalion in partnership with ABS-CBN LingkodKapamilya Foundation Incorporated distributed Eight (8) engine machines to Organized Famers Association of the municipalities of Maco and Mawab at Headquarters 71st IB, Purok 8, Brgy. Nueva Visayas, Mawab, Compostela Valley Province on 21 September 2018, 3:00pm.

These machines shall be used by the farmers in their livelihood projects such as cacao production, upland rice farming, and livestock and tilapia production.

The Turn-over Ceremony was led by Major General Felimon T Santos Jr. AFP, Commander of the 7th Infantry Division, Philippine Army who that time conducting his visit to Headquarters 71st IB as one of the Mindanao Based Units under his command.

The engine machines were received by the officers of the associations which were organized by the 71st IB under its Community Support Program (CSP) namely: Brgy Elizalde Rural Workers Association (BERWA); SitioEstabilloAndili Rural Association of Farmers (SERAF); SangabEnergitic Farmer Association (SEFA); BrgyGubatan Livelihood for Peace Association (BGLPA); BalikLoob Integrated Farmers Association (BIFA); Mawab Rural Workers Association (MARWA); PanibasanEagles Rural Association (PERA); and Malamodao Enthusiastic Food Processors Association (MEFPA) with a total of 600 members.

Lieutenant Colonel Esteveyn E Ducusin, Battalion Commander of 71st IB has vibrantly extended his greatfulness to ABS-CBN LingkodKapamilya Foundation Incorporated for its unending support considering the significance of these machines as an answer to the major predicaments of the farmers that are mostly composed of Former Rebels (FRs).

“Angpagbuhosngiba’t-ibangprograma ay resultangpagkakaroonngkapayapaandahilsapatuloynapagbalikloobsapamahalaanngmgamyembrong NPA at tagasuporta, good governance at pagkakaisangmgamamamayan”, Ducusin added.

ABS-CBN LingkodKapamilya Foundation has been one of the major partners of the battalion in creating programs targeting the academic institutions, FRs, and families from geographically disadvantaged areas under 71st IB Area of Operations.
