RELENTLESS CAMPAIGN  |  NOLCOM recovers Firearms and War Materials during Pursuit Operations in Isabela

CAMP GEN SERVILLANO AQUINO, Tarlac City (DWDD) – While conducting pursuit operations against the fleeing Communist NPA Terrorists (CNTs), a Northern Luzon Command (NOLCOM) Army unit recovered firearms and several war materials in Sitio Abitil, Brgy Dicamay Dos, Jones, Isabela on August 11, 2018.

As the 53rd Division Reconnaisance Company (53DRC) of the Joint Task Force (JTF)  “TALA”, under the 5th Infantry “Star” Division (5ID), was scouring the area, they discovered enemy trackings towards SouthEast (SE) direction which is about eight hundred (800) meters away from the last encounter site.

The said Army troops followed the said tracking leading to the house of a certain Gilbert Geneva. Several tracks and footprints, as indicators of enemy presence, were seen around and inside the house of said personality, which was located well within the vicinity of the encounter site.

The troops then recovered one (1) each Cal. 45 pistol and Cal .38 pistol (both with live ammunitions), a Detonating Cord Box, a Butt of Carbine Rifle, a number of communication equipment and subversive documents.

This development was a result of the relentless conduct of combat operations against the New People’s Army (NPA), the armed component of the Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP).

It can be recalled that four (4) encounters erupted within six (6) days that started last August 4 in the isolated municipality of Jones, a known NPA affected area of Isabela province.

NOLCOM forces will continue to pursue the remnants of the NPA Terrorist Group in their identified lairs to isolate and prevent them from threatening the innocent civilians and create havoc in the communities. NOLCOM will continue to engage all stakeholders in order to have shared and concerted efforts in attaining peace and development in the area. NOLCOM / MCAG
