NAIA 2, Pasay City (DWDD) – Chinese Businessman Albero R Dy Sun was arrested by operatives of the Philippine National Police – Criminal Investigation and Detection Group, National Capital Region (PNP-CIDG, NCR) at the arrival lobby, South Wing of the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 2 for five (5) counts of Estafa.
Dy Sun, President of Merchandise Distributors Inc. (MDI), distributor of the probiotic drink Yakult, arrived at NAIA 2 aboard PAL flight PR2778 from Tagbilaran, Bohol when he was accosted by operating units from the PNP-CIDG NCR and Aviation Security Group (AVSEGRP) by virtue of a Warrant of Arrest for Estafa issued by Quezon City RTC branch 91 Judge Wilfredo L Maynigo.
Upon his arrest, operatives led by SPO2 Lowel Luvin Farinaiz and SPO1 Oliver Obligado of CIDG NCR left the terminal on board a black Toyota Innova with plate nr VZ3587 with no untoward incident.
According to the complainant’s lawyer, Atty. Dennis Pangan, court record show that Alberto was sued by his own nephew Aldrin Vincent Dy Sun for not giving the shares and dividends of his father and Alberto’s brother J. Victory Dy Sun amounting to P4.7M. Pangan said J. Victory passed away and it is now his son who is running after the shares and dividends.
“Noong buhay pa siya, kinukuha niya shares at dividendo, ayaw ibigay. Noong gusto naming idemanda ng tatay, sabi niya, hindi ko na kakayanin maysakit na ako. Ayoko na ng gulo,” Pangan explained.
Pangan said based on MDI financial statements from 2011-2015, cash dividends were already distributed to stockholders including that J. Victory, but he was not able to receive the dividends.
“Noong namatay siya, we tried to get the dividend, hindi pa rin ibinigay. Sabi ng anak, agrabyado naman kami masyado, kung hindi ibibigay, kawawa naman sila,” Pangan said.
Alberto Dy Sun is temporarily out on bail after paying P90,000 bond money, P18,000 for each of the 5 estafa cases against him. AES / ALS / MCAG
