PASIG CITY (DWDD) – Youth leaders from Mindanao will have a chance to be part of a 6-month study programme in New Zealand as Deputy Peace Adviser Nabil Tan and New Zealand Ambassador David Strachan discuss the design and developments of the proposed Mindanao Young Leaders Programme.
Targeted to start in 2019, the programme will be based in Auckland, New Zealand and will run for five years. Eight to 10 participants each year will focus on developing their knowledge and skills for the sustainable development of Mindanao.
The Government of New Zealand has been supporting the peace process in the Philippines through various peace initiatives, such as the GRP-UN Act for Peace Programme in Mindanao from 2005-2011. OPAPP / MCAG
