CAMP BAHIAN, Malaybalay City, Bukidnon (DWDD) – Through Memorandum Order No. 21, the 403rd Infantry “PEACEMAKER” Brigade with the leadership of Brigadier General Eric C Vinoya created “Task Force PAG-ASA CAMISBUK” that assisted the Commission on Elections in ensuring the free, orderly, honest, peaceful, and credible conduct of village polls in the provinces of Camiguin, Misamis Oriental and Bukidnon.
A peaceful and honest local elections in the barangay levels during the conduct of Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Election on May 14, 2018 was accomplished, the Peacemaker Brigade, in coordination with its Battalions, the PNP, and COMELEC offices in its area of responsibility, established “Task Force PAG-ASA CAMISBUK” headed by its Task Force Commander, Colonel Ferdinand T Barandon. The move is in concurrence with the order of President Rodrigo Duterte with COMELEC resolution 10207 deputizing the military and police to ensure “the free, orderly, honest, peaceful and credible” conduct of the elections right after he signed the Memorandum Order No. 21 on April 13, 2018.
As one of the security measures identified by the Army to secure a peaceful poll, Task Force PAG-ASA CAMISBUK was organized. Its operationalization commenced during election period and will last until the COMELEC announces that the conduct of local elections on the three provinces is a success. This Task Force includes seven different cells that coordinate with their counterparts on the battalion level to execute their respective tasks in support to the COMELEC’s vital tasks and functions.
Colonel Ferdinand T Barandon, the designated Task Force Commander, guaranteed the religious perform of the Peacemaker Brigade with their tasks to ensure that the local elections will be peaceful. “The Task Force PAG-ASA made sure that no disruptions transpired on the duration of the village polls. They worked 24/7 to attain their goal of maintaining the credibility of this elections. Our main goal is for this election to be pronounced as a successful one, most importantly, in the provinces of Camiguin, Bukidnon, and Misamis Oriental.”
In his message, Brigadier General Eric C Vinoya AFP, Commander of the 403rd Infantry Brigade, is confident that the Team Peacemakers has contributed to the attainment of the peaceful local polls.
“Through the collaborative efforts of COMELEC, PNP, different Local Government Units, other law enforcement agencies, and the Army, I believe that we will be able to deliver our desired end state, that is to have an honest, orderly, credible, and peaceful elections. Our troops will do our part to the best of our ability” said General Vinoya.
