LOMBOK ISLAND, Indonesia (DWDD) – The Philippine Navy (PN) contingent under Naval Task Force 83 headed by Captain Danilo Fuentes Jr PN (GSC) join the Indonesian Navy to participate in the different community activities prepared for the Indonesian people as part of the harbour phase activity in connection with the 3rd Multilateral Naval Exercise Komodo 2018 at Lombok Island, Indonesia.
The Fun Bike was participated by the Vice Commander, Philippine Navy, Rear Admiral Gaudencio Collado Jr AFP together with Commodore Toribio Adaci Jr AFP and other VIPs. While, PN personnel participate in the MNEK Mataram 5K/10K Fun Run at Islamic Center. Moreover, a City Parade was also conducted with our PN representatives who walks approximately 2.5 Km from Islamic Center to Mataram Mall.
To support their local government program, the mess department of BRP GREGORIO DEL PILAR (FF15) joins the culinary festival together with other participating warship to compete in the cooking competion of “Taliwang Chicken,”a famous Lombok cuisine.
Other members of the PN contingent likewise participates in the Sports event prepared at Senggigi beach to increase the camaraderie among participating navies.
Culture performance was also conducted with the presentation coming from our ship’s crew and the Philippine Marine Corps Combo.
VIPs also visited the Maritime Exhibition that aims to show maritime products in order to improve the perception of maritime industry in the country and make the general public to be informed.
