DISCIPLINE  |  C, PNP Albayalde sets expectations and goals

CAMP RAFAEL CRAME, Quezon City (DWDD) – “I am happy to join you all this morning on my first Monday flag raising ceremony as your Chief PNP. And I take this opportunity to thank you for the warm welcome you accorded me when I assumed command over our beloved organization last April 19.”

This was part of the message by PNP chief Police Director General Oscar D Albayalde, during his first Monday Flag-Raising Ceremony at the PNP National Headquarters at Camp Rafael Crame in Quezon City.

PDG Albayalde expressed his elation on the warm reception he received upon his assumption as the new PNP chief and he is accepting the challenge with greater responsibilities and a deeper commitment to perform even better.

He assured the men and women of the PNP that he will carry on with what former PDG Ronald Dela Rosa has started and build on the gains and achievements they have made to ensure that it will be a chapter that every Filipino truly deserves.

From Team NCRPO, I have taken the challenge to lead Team PNP as we now focus our efforts on imposing strict discipline, reform and internal cleansing; intensified campaign against criminality and illegal drugs; practical programs for crime prevention and suppression; and strengthening of public engagement.”

Albayalde insisted discipline will be the landmark of his administration by enforcing it strictly in all levels in the PNP coinciding with various reforms and internal cleansing. “Basta’t may disiplina kayo, magkakaroon kayo ng tunay na respeto sa sarili at magiging maayos ang inyong paglilingkod. As such, you will have no problem with me and the PNP leadership and with the community that you serve.”

He again warned police officers whom he called as “misguided souls who continue to live on the “darkside” and refuse to toe the line” to reform and assured rewards for those who will perform well with disciple and competence.

He added that his administration will strengthen and expand the scope of counter-intelligence functions in all levels of command starting with the national units, and this will be complemented by the equally crucial administrative action to expedite resolution of cases involving misconduct and breach of discipline by errant personnel.

On the War on Drugs, it will remain relentless, as to fulfill the promise of President Rodrigo Duterte to the Filipino people. AES / MCAG
