CAMP GEN EMILIO AGUINALDO, Quezon City (DWDD) – Today is the finalday of Summer CAMP (Catalyst and Advocate of Military Professionalism) Sale at Camp Gen Emilio Aguinaldo Station Hospital Parking Lot, Gate 1 organized by Armed Forces of the Philippines Officers’ Ladies Club Inc. (AFPOLCI), in cooperation with San Miguel Corporation,.
The three-day bazaar is also in partnership with the AFP Commissioned Officers Club and AFP Commissary Exchange Services.
Mrs. Jayne Guerrero, adviser of the AFPOLCI, and wife of the AFP Chief of Staff General Rey Leonardo Guerrero said that the main purpose of the fund raising is to assist the widows of soldiers who died from natural causes.
Mrs. Marissa Datuin, President of the AFPOLCI, and wife of AFP Spokesperson Brigadier General Bienvenido Datuin Jr, encourages soldiers’ widows to put up and sustain their own stalls for the three-day bazaar.
The Summer CAMP Sale is open to all military personnel and civilians from 10:00 am to 9:00 pm today, Friday, April 13.
Exhibitors sell various items such as food, drinks, clothing, and pre-loved items.
The AFPOLCI and San Miguel Corporation invited bands to play every 5:00pm onwards such, and today a local pop-rock band called Gracenote will delight the crowd on the closing ceremony.
“This is the first time that the AFPOLCI holds this event. The concerts are open for everyone free of any charge,” Mrs. Datuin said.
“We really want to raise awareness on the life and struggles of our soldiers’ widows, as well as give them an opportunity to enjoy the event with the rest of the military community in Camp Aguinaldo,” Mrs Datuin added. CRSAFP / MCAG
