CAMP RAFAEL CRAME, Quezon City (DWDD) – The Inspector General of the Internal Affairs Service has already ordered the lifestyle check on Police Superintendent Adrian Antonio as part of the investigation since he is a government employee.
This is to determine whether his lifestyle is within his lawful means, after he was caught playing baccarat at the City of Dreams in Parañaque City on April 3.
The arrest stemmed from a report from the casino management after Antonio presented his identification card showing he is a police officer following an altercation with a casino player whom he owes money from. Based on initial information, the PNP has been monitoring Antonio’s casino habit for the past three months already.
Antonio was placed on a restrictive custody under the Southern Police District prior to the filing of administrative charges against him
This is part of the government’s policy against corruption. His Statement of Assets, Liabilities, and Networth (SALN) will also be scrutinized to determine whether the income, property, assets and the standard of living are within the allowable means or proprotionate to his lawful income.
The result of the investigation will be used in the filing of criminal charges against him or any public official or employee who will be found to do the same. The PNP is reminding its members on the policy prohibiting them from entering casinos and other gambling facilities. AES / ALS
