CHAMPIONS  |  PA lauds Cycling and Dragon Boat teams for their outstanding performances

FORT ANDRES BONIFACIO, Taguig City (DWDD) – The Philippine Army awarded a plaque of recognition to its outstanding athletes composed of Army Dragon Boat and Cycling Teams during the flag raising ceremony on Monday, April 2, 2018.

A plaque of recognition was bestowed to the PA Dragon Boat Team for being the overall champion during the Philippine Dragon Boat Federation Regatta 2018 held on March 25 in Manila Bay, Roxas Boulevard, Metro Manila. The PA Dragon Boat Team for years have given enough pride and honor to the Army for garnering awards in different competitions both local and abroad to wit: overall champion during the 9th International Dragon Boat Federation (IDBF) Club Crews World Championships held in Italy in the year 2014, Japan International Dragon Boat in 2015, 10th IDBF Club Crew World Championships held in Australia in the year 2016 and the 2017 Paddle Surge in Tacloban City.

On the other hand, another plaque of recognition was conferred to the Philippine Army Cycling Team for bagging the 2nd Overall Award in the 8th LBC Ronda Pilipinas 2018 held on March 13 to 18.The competition covered a distance of 1,416 kilometers which started from Vigan City, Ilocos Sur, toward Filinvest Alabang, Muntinlupa City. The Army cycling team manager, Eric R. Buhain, was also given a plaque of appreciation for his invaluable support to the team.
