CAMP GEN EMILIO AGUINALDO, Quezon City (DWDD) – The Armed Forces of the Philippines through the Public Affairs Office clarified that the Free Ride offer of the Light Rail Transit – Line 2 is for uniformed personnel only of the organization.
According to Lt Col Emmanuel Garcia, AFP PAO Director, the agreement signed between former AFP Civil Relations Service Commander Major General Ronnie Evangelista and LRTA Administrator Reynaldo Berroya last December 17 only includes uniformed personnel of the AFP.
The agreement does not include soldier’s dependents and AFP Civilian Employees.
Lt Col Garcia added that the good gesture of the LRT-2 administration is their form of thanking the bravery and sacrifice of our men and women in uniform, especially with the liberation of Marawi City.
The free ride commenced last Saturday, January 20, for the whole LRT Line 2 from Santolan to Recto. Soldiers just need to present their AFP identification card to avail of the free service. AES/MCAG
