Tropical Depression Urduja 

PAGASA SCIENCE GARDEN, Quezon City (DWDD) – “URDUJA” has maintained it’s strength as it approaches the Western Boundary of the Philippines Are OF Responsibility (PAR).

  • Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal No.1 over Palawan has been lifted. However, sea travel remains risky over the western seaboard of Palawan due to the surge of Northeast Monsoon.
  • “Urduja” is expected to exit the PAR this morning or afternoon.
  • Meanwhile, at 2:00 AM today, the Low Pressure Area outside the PAR was estimated based on all available data at 1,395 km East of Mindanao (6.5°N, 138.8°E). The public and disaster risk reduction and management offices concerned are advised to continue monitoring for updates regarding this weather disturbance.

Location of eye/center: At 4:00 AM today, the center of Tropical Depression “URDUJA” was estimated based on all available data at 240 km West Northwest of Puerto Princesa City, Palawan (10.2 °N, 116.6 °E)
Strength: Maximum sustained winds of 45 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 60 kph
Forecast Movement: Forecast to move West Southwest at 18 kph
