SAFETY  |  Children of Omar Maute to be turned-over to DSWD

ILIGAN CITY (DWDD) – The Philippine National Police – Iligan is coordinating with the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) for the care and custody of the children of Maute terror group leader Omar Khayam Maute.

This was the statement made by PNP Regional Office 10 Director C Supt Tim Pacleb, after joint AFP-PNP operatives sucessfully captured Omar’s Indonesian wife Minhati Madrais Maute alias Baby.

Minhati was arrested yesterday based on “Arrest, Search, and Seizure Order Number 1” by Joint Operatives of Joint Task Force Ranao, in her residence at Steele Makers Village in Tubod, Iligan City.

Recovered in her possession was 4 blasting Cap, 2 detonating Cord, 1 time fuse, and an expired Indonesian Passport.

Taken in custody during the arrest were the six children of Minhati, 4 girls aged 7, 10, and 12; and 2 boys aged 2 and 9 months.

Minahti and her children are currently under the custody and care of the Iligan Police Office. AES/ALS
