MARAWI PROVINCIAL CAPITOL, Marawi City (DWDD) – A stress debriefing was conducted on October 22, 2017 at the Social Hall, Marawi Provincial Capitol by a group of volunteer doctors and psychologists to the soldiers who fought in Marawi.
The team was led by Dr. Gail T Ilagan, the Director of Center of Psychological Extension and Research Services in Ateneo de Davao University.
Soldiers who benefited the activity were from the Special Forces, Scout Rangers and Light Reaction Regiment units who played a vital role in liberating Marawi.
“We are here to assess if they (soldiers) have adverse stress reactions for their participation in the five-month Marawi crisis and thank God it was resolved successfully.” Said Dr. Ilagan.
“In partnership with the Neuro-Psychiatric unit and the First Infantry Division, we are still deploying volunteer psychologist because the psychological well-being of the troops who help liberate Marawi is very important and we don’t want them to have Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and Depression.” she added. 1DPAO/MCAG
