RAP PIONEER  |  Vincent Daffalong joins our Creator

MANILA (DWDD) – Vincent Daffalong, whose real name is Vincent Quilet, 64 years old, passed away last week in a hospital in Balayan, Batangas, according to his Daugther China Gerona.

Daffalong rose to fame in the early 80s via his hit “Mahiwagang Nunal,” reaping success after success through his comedic verses and novelty singing.

He was also known for his other hits like “Ispraken Delight,” and “Machoching.”

He is also a composer, creating songs like “Ano ang Gagawin Pag Wala Ka na” sung by Eva Eugenio, “Dance with Me” performed by Boyfriends and later revived by Ogie Alcasid, and Mamahalin Kita also by Boyfriends.

The moniker “Daffalong” is due to the shape of his nose, as Filipinos would call it “dapa ang ilong. Before his demise, he worked as a radio DJ and as an events and show organizer.
