DASMARINAS, Cavite (DWDD) – Veteran and novice inventors in CALABARZON will put their prized discoveries to public display on today, October 11 until October 13, 2017 at Robinsons Place Dasmariñas, Cavite during the Regional Invention Contests and Exhibits (RICE) 2017 of the Department of Science and Technology – CALABARZON.
A total of 65 entries were submitted to DOST-CALABARZON during the preliminary selections. However, only 34 qualifiers who tried in RICE’s 5 categories namely Invention, Utility Model, Industrial Design, Creative Research and Student Creative Research vied for a chance to exhibit their inventions, win the regional title and make it to the National Invention Contests and Exhibits (NICE) 2018.
RICE is a biennial celebration of the country’s premiere S&T institution, DOST, to provide an outlet for our local investors to feature their works and to recognize the indispensability of Filipino inventors in the Philippine society and in the landscape of national economic development.
This contest also aims to provide encouragement to the country’s local inventors and to show the assistance the government can provide for special sectors like this.
The conduct of forum with regards to the basics of 3D Printing Technology on Oct. 12 and a forum on invention Development and Intellectual Property on Oct. 13 will be conducted publicly for free in a first-come, first served basis for the first 150 confirmed participants.
