HONG KONG (DWDD) – The Philippines participated for the second straight year in Hong Kong’s Belt and Road Summit held on 11 September at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre.
The Philippine booth featured information on doing business in the country, with emphasis on the 2017 investment priorities of the government.
The Philippine booth at the Global Investment Zone of the annual initiative co-organized by the Hong Kong Government and the HK Trade Development Council, received a steady stream of inquiries. It was manned Consulate General of the Philippines in partnership with the Construction Industry and Arbitration Commission of the Department of Trade and Industry.
With the theme “From Vision to Action”, the Summit drew more than 3,000 participants from 50 countries, composed of government officials, policymakers, project owners, investors and service providers in various sectors, including international trade and manufacturing, infrastructure development, banking and financial services, logistics and maritime, and medical and eco-tourism.
It was participated in also by fellow ASEAN countries Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, Thailand and Vietnam. dfa.gov.ph/MCAG
