BE ALERT  |  NDRRMC reminds residents in danger zones to heed warning of authorities

CAMP GEN EMILIO AGUINALDO, Quezon City (DWDD) – The National Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council (NDRRMC), through its spokesperson Mina Marasigan, reminded residents living in danger zones to heed the reminders/warnings from their local government.

This after reports of two (2) brothers who died this morning after a landslide hit their area in Taytay, Rizal due to heavy rains brought by tropical depression Maring. The brothers identified as Justine Pundal, 14

In a press briefing by the NDRRMC in Camp Aguinaldo, Marasigan reiterated that the NDRRMC, through local government units have been reminding residents within danger zones to immediately evacuate, in particular, those who are in landslide prone areas, low lying and coastal areas.

Marasigan addded that there is an on-going evacuation operations in some areas in Quezon, Laguna, Rizal and Batangas.

Based on the latest inforamtion received by the National Operations Center, aside from the incident in Taytay, Rizal, landslides were also reported in Nasugbu, Batangas.

Meanwhile, flooding is stiil being experienced in Malabon, Quezon City, Paranaque, Pasig, Camarines Norte, Quezon Provnce, Laguna, Rizal and Batangas. AES / ALS
