NO THREAT  |   PNP sees no retaliatory attack from Maute

CAMP RAFAEL CRAME, Quezon City (DWDD) –  The Philippine National Police (PNP) sees no immediate threat or possible retaliatory attack in Metro Manila from the Daesh-inspired Maute terror group.

This is after the demise of Cayamora Maute, father of Omar and Abdullah Maute, leaders of the terror group that took siege of Marawi.

According to PNP Chif Director General Ronald dela Rosa, it is hard for the Maute group to launch any retaliatory attack in Metro Manila since they are already having a hard time dealing with the offensive by government troops.

But, Dela Rosa did not discount the possibility of “sympathy attacks” by their sympathizers on government or civilian targets although he believes that this will not be intense or large scale. AES / ALS
