CAMP GEN EMILIO AGUINALDO, Quezon City (DWDD) – The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) has placed on alert the AFP Northern Luzon Command (NOLCOM) in light of the recent threat of a missile attack by North Korea on Guam.
According to Marine Col Edgard Arevalo, Chief, Public Affairs Office, AFP, although the Philippines is not directly affected by the missile threat, experts believe that debris from the missile might possibly fall on any part of Northern Luzon since it is in the flight path towards Guam.
The tension between the United States of America and North Korea was brought by the recent heated exchange of words between the two country
Currently, the AFP has set in place “contingency plans” to address any possible threat, which includes the possibility of evacuating affected residents and any military actions. AES / MCAG
