FORECASTING | Teaching kids about the Weather

DOST NSTW Disaster Summit for kids with Mang TaniMANILA (DWDD) – Popular meteorologist and television personality Nathaniel Cruz or Mang Tani of GMA-7 explains the science behind weather forecasting to elementary school children, mostly  from poor families and from Boy’s Town in Parang, Marikina City.

The event, titled “Disaster Summit for School Children (V-VI): A Science Experience”, was conducted by the Department of Science and Technology (DOST)-PAGASA and DOST-National Research Council of the Philippines in cooperation with PHIVOLCS and Philippine Nuclear Research Institute, both of DOST, and the Department of Social Welfare and Development.

The activity is part of the annual celebration of the National Science and Technology Week that ran July 11-15, 2017 at the World Trade Center, Pasay City with the general theme, “Science for the People”. #ScienceforthePeople #2017nstw #dostPH.
