CAMP GEN EMILIO AGUINALDO, Quezon City (DWDD) – The Quiapo twin blast was purely a law enforcement function thus the Armed Forces of the Philippines sees no need to comment or intervene since the police found credible leads that they are currently pursuing.
According to AFP Public Affairs Office chief Col Edgard Arevalo, the police is on top of the situation and the military is not involved in this since this purely a civilian matter.
Col Arevalo also insisted that the incident has nothing to do with terrorism and they have requested the public not to dignify personality or groups claiming responsibility for the blast which he believes is just being used as propaganda and to add fear and terror among the citizenry.
It was clear in the post-blast investigation that the bomb was meant for a certain personality. AES / AS
