As the ASEAN Summit comes to close, Director General Ambassador Marciano Paynor Jr. of National Organizing Council for ASEAN 2017 said the country is prepared for the hosting of this year’s ASEAN Summit.
During the 2nd Digital Media Forum hosted by the Presidential Communications Operations Office or PCOO and Presidential Security Group held in Malacañang Palace, Paynor discussed the overall operations for the ASEAN Summit 2017.
As part of the preparation, the 30th ASEAN will hold 137 meetings which include 2 summits, 17 ministerial rank meetings, 42 senior officials’ meeting and 76 technical group meetings in which 1/3 of the meetings are done.
The ASEAN meetings will be held nationwide including Metro Manila, Legazpi City, Boracay, Bohol, Cagayan de Oro, Palawan, Laoag, Pampanga, Iloilo, Pampanga, Cebu and Davao.
The Asean Summit begins on April 26 and will be held at the Philippine International Convention Center in Pasay City and expected to be attended by 1900 delegates and 2000 members of media, Paynor added.
