Davao police who were ambushed by believed to be NPA members on March 8, 2017, will receive benefits and insurance from the Philippine National Police.
According to Police Director Ramon O. Purugganan, the Director for Personnel and Records Management (DPRM), the bereaved family of PO3 Jeden Mie D Rabor of Scene of the Crime Operations (SOCO) Davao; and PO1 Rholly E Benelayo, PO1 Saro S Mangotara, and PO1 Joey O Narvaza of Bansalan Municipal Police Station will receive benefits from the PNP, Presidential Social Fund-Special Financial Assistance (PSF-SFA), and Public Safety Mutual Benefit Fund Inc. (PSMBFI).
Said PNP personnel were dispatched at Brgy Sibayan, Bansalan, Davao del Sur in order to conduct crime scene operation on reported shooting incident at about 7:30 in the morning on Wednesday (March 8).
Beneficiaries of the four (4) slain policemen will receive a pension which is equivalent to 50% of base pay and longevity pay, Commutation of Accrued Leaves (CAL) and SFA, all from the PNP.
In addition, the Presidential Management Staff will be giving Php250,000.00 as part of the Presidential Social Fund SFA; Gratuity, Burial, Pension and Scholarship from the National Police Commission (NAPOLCOM).
Furthermore, a total insurance coverage amounting to over 1.5 million pesos from the four slain members’ Equity Plan, Basic Group Term Plan, Special Group Term Insurance, and Burial Assistance Benefit will be given by the PSMBFI. Included in the total insurance coverage is the Php498,000.00 Cash Advance that was immediately provided to the surviving relatives of the four slain policemen while they are in the process of completing the requirements for the settlement of other financial aid.
The Chief PNP Director General Ronald Dela Rosa, who has always been concerned for the welfare and morale of PNP personnel and has a big heart for cops assigned in field operations, immediately visited the wake of the slain Davao police personnel and the injured, PO3 Arnado on Thursday, March 9, 2017.
