Jungle Fighters encounters NPA members in Rodriguez Rizal

Rodriguez-RizalTroops of the 2nd Infantry “Jungle Fighter” Division encountered an undetermined number of armed members of the New People’s Army (NPAs) today, March 2, 2017, 8:00 in the morning, at So Lam-aw, Brgy Puray, Rodriguez, Rizal.

The said encounter which lasted for 10 minutes happened after a resident in the area tipped-off the presence of the armed rebels. The report says the NPA terrorists consolidated in order to launch a tactical offensive at Patrol Base Apia in Brgy Calawis, Antipolo City, and to liquidate their former supporter known as Ka Egay at Sitio Dapis, Brgy. Puray, Rodriguez, Rizal.

No casualties was reported from the government side while on the side of the enemies is still undetermined.

According to Major General  Rhoderick Parayno, Commander of 2nd Infantry Division, the troops in the area are still conducting pursuit operations in order to track down the fleeing rebels.

Meanwhile, as per record, after the ceasefire was terminated by the NPAs, and later by the government, the 2ID has already neutralized two NPA leaders, and recovered four high-powered firearms along with various ammunitions and explosives.
