Criminal Investigation and Detection Group Director, Roel Obusan clarified that CIDG will follow rule of law when seizing National Democratic Front consultants that are freed to partake in the peace talks last January.
Last February 4, Saturday, President Rodrigo Duterte canceled the peace talks after the New People’s Army’s rebels continue spreading atrocities in the rural areas.
Obosan also said that CIDG will be following the President’s directive and their agency will make sure that coordination within the PNP and Armed Forces of the Philippines will always be intact.
He also said that they will be coordinating with the Bureau of Immigration and other government agencies to make sure that their operations will be smooth and legally possible.
As for the Joint Agreement Safety and Immunity Guarantee, Obosan stated that the NDF consultants already know their rules but as for CIDG, they will solely follow the orders given to them.
The official explained that the whereabouts of the said consultants will not be revealed but he assured that they will be found through their intelligence works.
As of now, there is no definite deadline given to them to put all the consultants into custody. However, he said that even if the President did not set any deadline to finish the task, they will still prioritize his directive. – EPJA
