ASGCamp  Aguinaldo — Armed Forces of the Philippines Chief of Staff General Eduardo Aῆo is determined to annihilate the reign of the Abu Sayyaf Group in Mindanao within his first six months of service as the AFP chief.

AFP Public Affairs Office Chief Marine Colonel Edgard Arevalo said that there will be adjustments on operational commitments of the AFP particularly on operational procedures on leadership and also on the composition of fighting teams.

This is to ensure that the AFP will be able to defeat the ASG within six months.

Arevalo clarified that the said six-month target is just a time-frame to the soldiers deployed in the field for the plan to spread out.

Though Arevalo did not mention this directly, but he is expecting for an additional force of military that will be deployed in Sulu, Basilan, and Tawi-tawi where ASG presence is most prominent. – EPJA
