Together with Chairperson Bala, who also served as Chair of the 2016 Committee on Presidential Lingkod Bayan and CSC Pagasa Award, President Duterte awarded 24-karat gold medallions handcrafted by the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP), plaques, and Php100,000 cash prizes to the CSC Pagasa Award recipients. The recognition is given to an individual or group of individuals for their outstanding contributions that directly benefit more than one department of the government.

The Dangal ng Bayan Award is given to an individual for his/her extraordinary act or public service and consistent demonstration of ethical behavior under Republic Act No. 6713 or the Code of Conduct and Ethical Standards for Public Officials and Employees. On the other hand, the Presidential Lingkod Bayan Award is conferred to an individual or group of individuals for exceptional contributions that had nationwide impact on public interest and national security.

Recipients of both awards received trophies designed by National Artist for Visual Arts Napoleon Abueva, 24-karat gold medallions, Php200,000 cash prizes, and automatic promotions to the next higher positions that they currently hold.

“Please accept my congratulations and your extra… walking the another mile to do something for your fellowmen,” President Duterte said as he expressed his admiration to the awardees. RTVM / MCAG
