CAMP GEN EMILIO AGUINALDO, Quezon City (DWDD) – The Armed Forces of the Philippines welcomed its 48th Chief of Staff in a Change of Command Ceremony in Camp Gen Emilio Aguinaldo, Quezon City.
Lt Gen Eduardo Manahan Año was designated by President and AFP Commander in Chief Rodrigo Roa Duterte after General Ricardo Visayas formally retires from the service after reaching the mandatory retirement age of 56 on December 8, 2016.
Gen Visaya was rendered a traditional Testimonial Parade as a sign of gratitude for his valuable service to the country and the AFP.
Before his assumption as the Chief of Staff of the AFP, Lt Gen Año, member of the PMA Matikas Class of 1983, graduating cum laude, was the Commanding General of the Philippines Army.
