PNP Internal Cleansing Dismisses 9 Cops for Illegal Drug Use

iasQuezon City — As part of the commitment to conduct internal cleansing in the PNP, the Internal Affairs Service has recommended to PNP Chief Ronald Dela Rosa the outright dismissal of nine (9) police officers found positive of using illegal drugs. In its investigation and based on confirmatory reports by the PNP Crime Laboratory, IAS filed administrative cases and have found guilty the following police officers:

  1. PO1 Rahib R Mapambocol
  2. PO2 Jesus F Plazo Jr
  3. SPO1 Jay T Tizon
  4. PO3 Joel C Bolivar
  5. PO1 Archelaus Hunshell DR Olivares
  6. PO1 Edgar H Sarmiento
  7. SPO1 Robert T Pellarada
  8. PO2 Emmanuel B Mari
  9. PO1 Ronald D Alcasabas

 

IAS is also finalizing its proceedings involving forty (40) more officers whose confirmatory drug tests yielded positive for use of illegal drugs. According to IAS ADIG PCSupt. Leo Angelo D. Leuterio, police officers found positive for the use of illegal drugs after the confirmatory test will be recommended for outright dismissal from the service in its report to the Chief PNP.

IAS ADIG Leuterio further states “We continue to support the PNP leadership in its commitment to clean up our own ranks and the campaign against illegal drugs. The safety of the public and the well-being of our police officers rest on our staunch commitment to ensure that errant and corrupt police personnel have no place in a professionalized police service. IAS will continue to investigate and recommend disciplinary actions against these types of police officers, grounded on the rule of law and due process and our inherent authority to administer justice and discipline within our ranks.” (IAS)
