BLACK FRIDAY PROTEST | AFP Ready to Assist PNP

afp-seal pnp-seal pnp-cdmCAMP GEN EMILIO AGUINALDO, Quezon City (DWDD) – The Armed Forces of the Philippine has expressed their readiness in supporting the Philippine National Police regarding the Black Friday protest by anti-Marcos suppoters and some militant group.

According to AFP Public Affairs Office Chief Marine Col Edgard Arevalo, the AFP is always ready to provide augmentation force for the PNP since the “State of National Emergency” earlier declared by the Duterte administration has not yet being lifted by the government.

Col Arevalo added that the AFP augmentation force, numbering two hundred (200) would be composed of Crowd Management Teams and they are on standby and are ready to be deployed at “places of converge” once the need arises.

The AFP and the PNP is still hopeful that the protest would be generally peaceful.

The government has assured the protesters that their Freedom of Expression would be respected and authoritis will implement Maximum Tolerance as long as the rallyist themselves would follow the rule of law and avoid any form of violence, destruction of property, obstruction of traffic, etc. AES / ALS / MCAG
